    Hi 85 county
I have had issues with my ABS on the 98 Disco in the past and my best advice is get it sorted by someone with the diagnostic gear and knowledge.Whilst driving my car threw up the ABS warning light intermittently over the course of a few months. I was going through the motions of surfing the web looking for some info to check it out when one day the brakes did not work .It felt like the car accelerated as I approached the intersection with the ABS firing and it was not slowing down.
When I had the system checked out (next day) it was a faulty sensor on the front passengers side wheel which was replaced and all is o.k.
I think the system has some serious short comings for a sensor fault to cause what is essentially a total brake system failure but I was assured that the problem is not uncommon and has not returned in 12 months.
So my advice is dont risk your life and other drivers go and get it checked out sooner rather than later.
