    tdi 300 tdc

    Here's the problem developed a coolant leak at the back of No4 cylinder i'm also due for a new timing belt.Went to lock the fly wheel into tdc and found the cover is missing (auto gearbox).Is there any other way of locking the motor.

    The correct tool screws into the bigger hole in the casting where the cover plate is supposed to be. Have you got the right bits?

    You can just go down the local plumbers and pick up a 1/4 BSP brass plug. Drill a 3/16 hole in the plug and turn the drill bit around and you have a flywheel locking tool. Use a bit of blutak to hold the drill bit in place. Also beware as there are two slots in the flywheel and its the bigger one you want. A wading plug also works if you have one as its the same size as the 1/4 BSP.

    and a 9mm drill for the injector pump as well
