    New Disco + Whine

Picked up a 96 4 door Disco 3 weeks ago off Carsales 1 owner, genuine 97,000 klms 10 months rego for $5500.00.Been regularly serviced every 5000 klms by Alto Land Rover. ( They didn't miss with service charges)
Gave it a buff with Maguires and the paint looks like new.
It has a couple of small rust spots, surprisingly the worst is in the rear bumper under the plastic tread.
The only concern i have is a slight whine in the drive line when accelerating between 10 and 60 kl-ms, suspect road noise masks it after that.
Had the transmission serviced and they couldn't tell where the whine came from but there was no metal or other nasties in the auto transmission. After some reading it appears a common problem with Disco's, i am going to change the oil in the diffs and transfer box and wonder if using 80- 140 oil would reduce the noise or is this a bad idea, any suggestions on type and brand would be appreciated.
Took it up to Yarramalong last weekend and gave it a work out on some old logging tracks at the back of a mates place low range diff locks ETC , it went extremely well most impressed with its off road capabilities.
I can now really understand why Disco,s have a cult following i luv it.

I would not be concerned about the wine if it's not too loud as it is a Land Rover trait. Can't really comment on the oil to use sorry but I am sure someone will come in with some good info there.
    Cheers Shane
