Thread: Caught out be the simplest things...!!!!

Hi Forumites,
I wasn't sure about posting this all things considered, I bought this D1 a few months ago now, when I bought the vehicle I bought it knowing it had a couple of oil leaks, nothing new here......
On investigation I found the vacuum pump had quite a bad oil leak plus I had another one which looked to be coming from where the oil cooler pipes connected. The vacuum pump was replaced and I attempted to fix up the oil cooler pipes, despite this a slight oil leak persisted.
The previous owner used the fact the head gasket had been replaced as a selling point, the evidence suggested the head had been removed and replaced, all good.
Now check out the thumbnails attached, talk about not being able to see the wood for the trees. One reason I got the vehicle a bit cheaper was because of the oil leaks, amazing what a $2 clip will fix......
I have some gearbox oil leaks to fix so I've taken the engine out to make that job easier, you can see what I found hence the reason I did think twice before posting this. Feeling a little bit goosey right about now........
