Does anyone Make a winch bar for a D1???

It has come to my attention in the few weeks that ive owned my D1 that Winch bars are Few and far between, to buy new or second hand for that matter. Other than the Xrox bar that has recently become available.

Can anyone help with information regarding who makes or distributes a winch bar for a 97 D1?

Any suggestions or details are appreciated.

These ones are on ebay - they have two different types, not sure if they are both non-srs compatible but this one doesn't say it is not. Land Rover Discovery tubular winch bar | eBay

I got a new winch comapatible bull bar put on my Disco 1 a few weeks back at Opposite Lock (the old one came off second best when I slipped off a clay track and hit a tree). It's not specifically a winch bar as such though...

They do come up on ebay from time to time. I got my TJM one from there and have seen them go for good prices. You just have to keep an eye out. I have also seen some stupid prices on them though. Last week a pretty dirty TJM one sold for over $900. Be patient and you could be lucky.
    Cheers, David.

My '95 has an ARB for no airbags #3432080

Annettes '97 would need the airbag one from ARB #3432050

I'm on the hunt for a winch bar/mount for my 98 D1 as well, and having the same dilemma.

I was driving past TJM yesterday, and called in to see if there was anything they could do, but was told that they only stock nudge bars now. You'd have thought that with the D1 having run out only 13 years ago, they'd still stock something wouldn't you!
Anyway, I asked if they did a separate winch mount, like this one here, and was told no, that'd be illegal because of how it sticks out.

    Is that right?

If a winch bar is hard to get without spending half the value of the car, then that'd be the backup plan, even considering knocking one together myself. (There was a guy on another forum who built one and posted the plans). Looked like about 60 bucks worth of steel plate, 10 bucks worth of fixings, and about 300 years worth of grey hairs trying to weld the damned thing together.

Depending on the winch, but around 60mm of 230 x 75 parallel flange channel and a couple of pieces of 6mm plate about 250 x 300 ea. Fits between the chassis and on my D2 sits behind the crush can line and is engineered airbag compatible. I also made a tubular bar that mounts to the steel backing of the original plastic bar which mounts to the crush cans and again the engineer had no issue as it retains 90% of the original bumper bar and 100% of the mounting.
