I fitted up an Xrox bar and couldn't be happier. The Bar does everything i need from it. Holds my winch my spotties and my antennas what more can you ask for. If i was to hit a Roo with this or any other bar i think i would get the same amount of damage, aside from the lack of headlight protection the Xrox bar has the feel that it would direct any animal strike in a downward direction.
Well I finally ended my search yesterday (hopefully - I haven't fitted it up yet!) with a second hand TJM bullbar, complete with winch mount.
In need of a little TLC, and a bit of a paint job, but the Aldi winch I bought a few weeks ago fits fine, apart from the fairlead which needs an extra set of holes drilling.
So, only a few bits to do:
Tap Drivesafe up for a dual battery isolator kit
Move the coil and PS tank
mount the second battery
paint & repair the new bar
wire it all up
Just a question, the bullbar came with a recovery point attached, a semicircular ring of steel where it attaches to the chassis leg. Is this adequate as a recovery point, or is it worth replacing with a new one?
hi there, firefox try www.modernmotors.com.au they are in dungog. at the landrover expo i was going to buy a D1 winch bar of them for my 1984 4 door rangie, bar was similar to xrox bar he was going to sell it to me for $600 but i didnt buy it because i wasnt 100% sure it would fit the rangie. thanks from leyland.
I wish we could get nice bumpers like that here.. But the government seem to think that if someone gets it by a Defender without one that they will be much more cuddly and softer. I'm glad my 130 had it's ARB fitted before the ban came in...

Reason: No selling in the main forum and especially no canvassing for your own business
I just brought a winch plate and cut it to length, welded it into my arb bar ans braced it back to the chassey(spelling) using the same bolt holes, a little welding, some angle grinder cutting and it was done, not hard, you will be suprised hoe quick and easy it is to do.
