Can i tell?
Hi all,
My abs light has sometimes been staying on after a top 10k's but if I restarted the engine, the light would go out at the preprogrammed point.
Today, the abs light will not go out no matter how many times I restart the car.
It was coming on after I had the swivel hubs done (something about the air gap) but they sorted that.
Am I right in assuming that the sensor is cabbaged this time?
I'm booking it in to get it looked at but is there anyway for me to tell if it as adjustment job or a new sensor?
Also, this is going to be expensive isn't it for a new sensor?!?
Thanks as always,
Phil

Hi
Common problem is that the ABS sensor is too far out to read, try pushing them down with your hands. They will be pushed out to the correct distance when the wheel spins.

tried that with no luck so it's in to be looked at on monday. they can do my oil cooler pipe aswell as the damn think wont come out. took me 2 hours of fiddling and it seems as if the old one is welded into place.
Fingers crossed although a new sensor appears to be about $70 from the Uk so not too expensive!
Cheers again

ok, used the flashy light technique and discovered it was the front right sensor and the brake switch. unplugged and reconnected switch, all seems good but light came back on later today this time only sensor tho so will have a fiddle tomorrow
