I've got the same problem. In fact I'm having mine fixed tomorrow by a repair shop. Fortunately I seem to have got around to getting it fixed before it got so bad as to require a windscreen removal. I'll let you know the damage (in $) if you like.
Hi,
Got myself a 300 Tdi a few months ago and I've noticed a bit of rust on the a-pillar (the bit between the drivers door and the windscreen). I'm not sure how to go about getting this fixed but was hoping that some one on here might have some suggestions. I'm living in Sydney so any rust repair recommendations would be welcome
Thanks,
Christopher

I got mine done professionally, along with the floor and one of the alpine windows.

Thanks omvanders, really good to hear how much yours cost if only to give me an idea of how much it will cost me.
Mr Ploppy, how is yours looking now, any details on the workshop incase I can't find anything too trustworthy down here![]()
Got mine and my Alpine window done professionally when i got my disco. make sure they dont just bog it up, being a structual part it needs to be fixed properly and if you have a sunroof check it for leaks cuase thats what caused mine (well thats what im blaming)

It ended up costing $250 today. Had the alpine windows rust removed plus full roof and bonnet cut back respray a couple of years ago by the same guy for $1400.
Mine only cost $600 and he took photos of the job as he went and allowed me to come and check it out. All welded new steel and only a fine skim of bog to finish it before paint. Just ask them how they intend to repair it. Ask for stage by stage photos and if you can inspect as they progress. If they won't then I wouldn't use them. An honest panel shop should be happy to show off their handy work
Thanks for all the info guys, Lenny (my car) is currently getting his suspension, oil leaks and other stuff fixed so once I get him back I'll have a look round and post back how I get on![]()
