Thread: Brake pedal issues

You will most likely need to adjust the plunger.I recently changed mine on my 97 Disco due to an ABS fault light on the dash.The plunger can be extended by pulling on it or pushing it in with a moderate amount of force.You will feel it clicking as you do this.

The problem is the cruise con switch which seems to be preventing the brake pedal from fully returning. If I remove it from the pedal, all is good.
The new brake switch doesn't click either, it is one continuous smooth movement.

Glue a piece of rubber to the pedal where the switch hits it, or get another switch.

There are 2 different switches, 1 for ABS, 1 for non ABS. Is the switch the same as the old switch.
Both need adjusting when fitted. The ABS one, you need to depress the pedal and pull the plunger out, and the let the pedal go. it will adjust the plunger itself.This can take a bit of force.
With non ABS, you adjust the depth of the switch.
