Cool An Interesting Engine Oil Leak!!

Has anyone else had oil streaming out of the oil return pipe from the turbo on a 300TDI?? It is coming out from a coupling that joins a flex pipe to a solid pipe which goes into the block.

More importantly has anyone worked out a fix??

I was going to send it to a Landrover expert but he told me that they are hard to stop from leaking and wished me good luck. Not a very good sign I thought.
I had this dripping a little bit last year and nipped it up a bit but now its really pouring out and making a real mess. Has anyone had any luck with this coupling?? Any ideas?
    Thanks for any help!

    replacement required

    Hi fellows

If the pipe is that bad, regardless of how old it is, I would be buying a new one and fitting it.

Description; Pipe-oil drain turbocharger Part Number; ERR 4895

QP: Land Rover ERR4895 TURBO OIL DRAIN HOSE 300TDI DISCO in UK

Thanks Arthur for the link but its not the hose that is the problem. It is where the hose joins onto a pipe which goes into the block via a coupling. The coupling is the issue not the hose.

I'll have a look at mine tomorrow but it sounds like a compression fitting on the hose so if its leaking you will have to replace the complete hose and fitting. Is it the oil return pipe as shown as No.5 in the pic?

Yea, that is the general setup. But mine is a flex pipe from the Turbo down to a hard pipe into the side of the block joined by a coupling.

Sounds like the one that Arthur pointed out then (see picture) and if its leaking at the point where the flex pipe connects to the solid pipe there is little you can do but replace the complete assembly as per the part Number Arthur supplied. There should also be a small gasket so make sure you get that as well.
