Thread: Passenger door stays locked

Guys,
The central locking on my 98 Disco has decided to play up, specifically the passenger door will not unlock. The drivers side and both rears will unlock, and the door latch on the passenger one rises, but the door will not open unless I use the key on it and use the outside handle. The latch cannot be manually pulled any higher, so I presume is at its total stroke. Looking in the RAVE Workshop CD it shows an adjustment can be made to spring tensioned nylock nut on the interior connecting rod. A couple of questions-will such a adjustment fix this problem? Does anybody know the p/n for a replacement spring? Or if this doesn't do the trick what is the best fix. I'd like to get people's opinion's before I go and pull the door apart.

you will need to get a replacement spring..then pull the door apart.
