Crank pulley failure - 300 tdi

Recent repair to known vehicle involved replacing front crank pullley which had delaminated. It's the first one I've seen in 16 years playing with these engines.

Symptoms were belt slap and squawk and an unusual "pocket of small change" rattle at idle. How common is this failure???

    Cheers to all

    Hi Pierre,

Very unusual, I had my first one ever last month, it had 245K up, and of litterally hundreds and hundreds of these I have worked on this is a first, I have seen a few wobbling that I have subsequently replaced and some that have been flogged out due to being loose on the key, but delaminated, quite unusual.
