    Alpine window rust

    Hi guys and girls

I've done a search but can't seem to find the combination of info I need.
As with all good D1;s I have some rust around the bottom of the Alpine window on the drivers side. It doesn't appear to be to bad so repairing it shouldn't be to hard.

My question is has anyone either done this themselves or know of someone who has removed the alpine windows and replaced them sealing the whole with metal/filler etc? I'm thinking of putting some 6x9 speakers if this works so the need for extra light doesn't matter. Does it look any good from the outside?

    Cheers

    Mark

I was contemplating doing similar on mine the other day - welding in steel to fill the gaps.

I would be interested to see pics from someone who has done it.

They made a commercial version of the Disco in the UK/Ireland and it had glass fibre inserts in the Alpine windows. Land Rover Discovery Commercials
