need help 96 3.9 v8 injected disco cuts out while driving on petrol??
hi guys, just wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem i have, i have a 1996 3.9 v8i discovery, i will drive for about 30 ks on petrol and it jerks when you put the foot down to take off at the lights it will stall or accelerating to the speed limit while moving it will try and cut out. i the flick it over to gas and its fine. any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Your fuel pump is probably wearing out. It can be replaced with a commodore pump, e.g. Bosch BFP772. Diagnostic is to get out when it stalls, kick the fuel tank, does it then start? Also look at the connector plugs for the pump, on top of the pump housing and above the muffler. Either connector will go black when passing too much current, typical of worn out fuel pumps.
Also check the wiring around the negative side of your ignition coil. There is one wire on the negative side which runs the injection (white/black stripe). A loose connector may cause the efi to drop out.
