2 inch lift, not sure if its been done quite right!
Hi Forumites,
I bought a D1 a while ago now, told it had had a "professional" body lift done. I've since found out that some things that I've found don't really tell me that it was that professional. Doing a bit of work around and about, found the tranny cooler pipes into the tranny cooler are a bit bent out of shape, the cooler wasn't lowered to accomdate the lift, I've corrected this now, new pipes and lowered the cooler. The fuel pipes wee a bit tight so these have now been replaced, 4WD gear stick a bit low in the boot, I'm fixing this.
The rear bumer brackets were a bit flimsy, if you stood on the bumper the whole thing dropped down, I've now got new brackets, yet to be fitted.
Finally underneath there are some mounting points that have a two inch gap between the body mount and the chassis rail mount, please see the thumbnail attached. My questions are, are these important? Vehicle manufacturers rarely fit things you don't need, so these flopping around in the breeze doesn't quite look right.
Secondly is there any other stuff I should be looking out for? The steering rack and column look to have been done correctly, quite a few new looking bits and everything works as it should.
Thanks in anticipation for any constructive comments.
p.s. I tried to attach the thumbnail for some reason this didn't work.........

Unless you got a reciept from the company that did the lift when you bought it you can only assume it was done by a professional.
Even then there are professionals and professionals, it could have been the corner mechanic which would be called a professional, or done by a landrover specialist, and even amongst landrover specialists there are good ones and bad ones.

Hi Blitz,
Correct, I have no receipt so I've got no chance of following up that side of things, all I'm really after is trying to fix up what I've got, I'm pretty well already resigned to that. I'm just trying to find out if these anchor points are necessary, for some reason I can't attach any thumbnails, not sure what is going on there..........

there is a post about how to attach photos, easiest to read that but if you have flickr, picasa or the like and you can import it from there.
My short answer though without seeing the photos is definitely have all anchor points attached
cheers
