    Discovery tdi performance improvments?

    Hi all, Happy and inexspensive New Year. Firstly thank you all for answering my previous enquiries re turbo timer and spare parts.I am very happy with Disco,but read a thread concerning increase in power by a company in Annagrove, it appears they modify exhuast to turbo and recalibrate fuel flow,can't find thread again but not in "Good Oil",or about 50 back pages in this section.If anyone knows what I'm talking about, does it work?, is it expensive to have done,as I live at Dapto, is there anyone around Wollongong area who has expertise to carry out these modifications?     do it yourself

    1 cut out the center muffler
    2 check all the rubber hoses on your intake are all good, swap out is better.

    3 decide where and what sort of tune you want, what you will be using it for.
    4 LPG fumigation or Dgas is cheep and works very well on the 300 tdi

    Best to fit an EGT monitor if playing with the fuel pumps settings though. I did mine and it made a big difference but EGT were going over the recommended 720c on big hills so I had to wind it back a bit, still much improved over the original settings though. I think the mod in Anangrove you mentioned is carried out by John E Davis motor works but I've no details on this. I'd try the fuel pump tweaks first after fitting EGT and you may be happy with the performance increase without spending $$$.
