'93 3.9 Disco starts then dies
Hello everybody, this is my first run at a Discovery. Brought it, drove it home and then ugh lol.
It starts and then runs for 2-3 minutes, stops, and will not start again for another few minutes. I have overridden the fuel pump and it appears ok.
Clamped return line, made no difference.
Hot wired the coil and it still shut off.
I have checked all connectors and vacuum lines.
Oh and the horn beeps once on start-up.
Any help appreciated and thanks in advance.

Sounds like an earthing problem with the horn, could be something in the ignition circuit with a crook earth, also would check that there is no fuel in the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator to the IAC valve. Check that the IAC valve is tight, wouldn't hurt to remove it and clean plunger and seat with Carb cleaner, Press. Reg and IAC valve are on the back of the plenum, near the firewall, good luck, let us know how you get on, Welcome to the Forum, Regards Frank.
