I have 33's on my 94 Disco with a 2" suspension lift and it needed the guards cut and flares fitted, I don't think a 2" body will do, the horizontal length through the centre of the 33's needs clearancing (front to back), you have to take into consideration the wheel travel, Regards Frank.

    swap maybe

    Hi disconuts86

I have some front guards that are already cut and the LHS already has a hole for the snorkel, if you are interested, I could have a look to see which brand the snorkel is.

The condition of the guards could be called fair and they need a little filling in the odd spot and repainting.

    Right into barter.

    Body lift

    Hi Disconuts86,
Firstly welcome to the forum, if I could offer any advice if you go down the body lift option make sure you get it done properly, I bought a Disco that has had a body lift and I'm slowly fixing all the bits up that need to be done. Silly things like the rear bumper bar brackets that were not made and fitted properly, the tranny cooler pipes that were stretched and bent to fit instead of just lowering the cooler on the body work, the gear knob for the transfer case extension, the radiator brackets, especially the one on the RH side where the air con pipes fit. Little things but annoying.
Not sure about the 33's but due to articulation as mentioned on another post I would suspect you would be up for a bit of a trim here and there. Snorkel I've got a safari on mine, good brand, has the removable neck so you can turn the inlet, handy on the odd occasion. Sometimes they pop up on flea bay, measure at least three times, cut once.

Asside from the extra 1" of Diff clearance U will get with the 33's over the 31's, is there any other benefit to going this large of a tyre?
seems an awful lot of work to gain 1" Clearance. I only ask as I have been considering the same move and i am scrubbing the 31's already, let alone 33's.

    Hi Phat customs,
Extra 1 inch of diff clearance, you also make the vehicle just that little bit harder to climb into if you are maturing in years, you can get further into a pickle so less people can rescue you, depending on what you've got under the bonnet you loose possibly some acceleration, you load up an already in some cases weak(ish) drive train depending on how hard core you go, the vehicle becomes more of a "niche market" vehicle that has fewer customers, the potential buyer who is looking for a service history and a "normal" run about won't even phone up and you become a target of the "Rozzers" because it looks odd.
On the upside, to fellow four wheel drive addicts looks awesome, will go virtually anywhere, turns into a rescue vehicle for Patrols and Landcruisers, suddenly becomes a "bush hack" and gives you reason to buy another one you can use for a run around, fills in any spare time at the weekends and evenings carrying out repairs and strengthening bits that unexpectedly broke, puts you on a personal level with your local LR spares people or person, creates a family bond you will never be able to explain to others, explaining what that knock is, helping you clean the oil off the path from the transfer case leak has got worse since you loaded up the transmission, why you now have to own a power washer to get all the mud out from places it didn't go before.
Just to give you a bit of an insight......... enjoy the tyres when you get them.
