Correction, coming out between metal oil line and nut running down the thread on top of the filter and down the side of the filter.
There's an O-ring on each hose end under the nut, this definitely is Rover only. These thin O-rings are common to most of the oil lines. The one I mentioned in the previous post is not on the oil line but inside the extension housing for the oil temp control valve. Any one of them can harden and leak. If one is gone chances are the others are in a similar condition if they are the same age.
New o'ring for housing on way. Thanks all will see if this solves the problem.
Regards Shane.
Thank you to all, Fitted 'o'ring yesterday & all is now good. Old 'o'ring was triangular.

Can you tell me the part number for those o rings. After reading this thread I'm sure mine have gone also. Leaking all over the oil filter and I coudn't figure from where!
Sorry have lost part no. but is in the oil temp. thermostat valve. Any Land Rover parts supplier should be able to help you out.
Please post up the part numbers when you do buy them.
I think Ill be ordering some for the next service too.
