96 ES 300tdi. No price yet, will no when i'm finished with it in 6 months. Its going to be the spare car until mines on the road, it will more than likely just sit there

It has to be a series 1 at minimum or my parts are useless. SRS is not so much of a problem as abs is to me my Xrox bar is SRS compatible and for the 50mm body lift. What price you looking at for yours Vern and what year is it? Being SRS I'd guess after 95 at least

Hey Nicho
Sad to hear this has happened - you put some bloody hard work into that rig of yours
Yeah I did Blitz but it's a major learning curve for me.. No more second rate shops for advice and research everything I do fully first. The second rig will be better again and still have the same aggressive stance. Might even go one step further and try to make it legal as well. Going to find an engineer to discuss the mods with and see what I have to do to legalize it. I have time to plan it properly and a lot more knowledge behind me, it's just the cash and time factors that hold me up now. But it would be nice not looking over my shoulder every time I drive it.
You mentioned them earlier, but one of your first stops should be Andrew and the boys at Les Richmond Automotive. He built my very stock D2 into something more than capable of trip to the high country and around Oz. The great thing about when Andrew designs the aftermarket parts, he does it while keeping engineering and the law in mind.
These days, with the growing rise of the 4wding scene, the boys in blue are becoming more aware with what is legal or not. I think you're on the right track. Good luck.
I own a 1996 2 Door 300TDI. Its taken me nearly a year to get to know this engine and get it up to scratch. Now we've got it running absoloutly spot on its a sweet thing! When i bought her it was as stock as they come, one owner, no scatches and very tidy. Good thing to hack in to! Good luck finding another 2 door, not many around! If you're going to be towing a camper trailer around, i've heard that gas injection goes well on the tdi.
some food for thought:
Hydraulic Bumps Stops
X-eng High Performance Off-Road Engineering
9100 Series
By the way Nicho I'm getting closer to buying all the bits to upgrade the brakes to defender stuff -
I can get new parts from the UK to my door cheaper than I can get second hand bits that would need overhauling to my door from australia
It's unusual to find anything for a disco in Australian cheaper than in the UK and with the cost of shipping them here very reasonable why not go for new. I got my radius and trailing arms from QT cheaper than superior engineerings front only so I know what you mean. Can you please keep me up to date on the improvements and where you get them from..
Sorry to hear about your nightmare with your body lift.
was thinking about going the cheep body lift option but now hearing your dramas i might stick with the white tiger lift from LRA.
Do anyone else do the white tiger body lift or is it a LRA only brand?
And i would like to hear about what suspension setup i should go? I was thinking about going with the LRA setup aswell but looking at the X-Eng setups they might be good.
Has anyone put in the x-Eng suspension?
Would like to rack someones brain so i dont endup making uninformed and costly mistakes. Im currently running 285/75/16 BF km-2 muddys with 2" suspension lift. I have for the time being put in 2" Polly spacers in the front to stop me scrubbing out but will be putting in the 2" body lift and some type of longtravel suspension setup.
Im like you nicho I'm setting it up to be a touring rig but unlike you I have the frugal 300TDI
Oh and sory for the hijack
