    rear door central locking question

when i press the remote button for my central locking, the rear door lock actuator on my 95 discovery (cargo area) moves the lock up and down but when I unlock the car the actuator moves the lock up but then drops it down a slight amount so I have to then move the lock back up to the unlocked position manually with the key to open the rear door. I have tried a different actuator but the same thing happens, whats going on, is it related to that little round type spring in the acutal lock mechanism that needs replacing?
any ideas would be greatly appreciated
    thanks

Correct. Just like the front door handles. It's a little fiddly to get the rear door lock off and the replacement spring on, but do-able in an afternoon.

.....& just when you think it is dead impossible to get the lock out of the door, the bloody thing falls out onto the ground.

Is why working with a drop sheet under the door is a wise move to catch screws, rods, clips or any other essential gubbings, especially if over gravel.

Try & take photos of/or sketch the linkages before you disconnect everything, as there appears to about a 10,000 bits in there.
Replacing the spring is the easy bit when it's on a bench & you can see what you are doing.
Did you or will you get the spring set from the UK supplier as you may find since they have all had the same amount of operations, that others will eventually go.

These are a set of two but he does supply sets for 5 doors. Good to deal with & very fast.
