Over the last 2 years I've installed 8 for other people, none have come back to haunt me.![]()
Hi all,I have been checking prices on egt,and various other gauges recently, this manufacturer appears to be the cheapest.Has anyone had them fitted for say 12months and are they happy with their performance? they just seem to be to cheap compared with Aussi equivalentsRegards Lucky Lozza

I have had mine in for over 3 years now. Very happy.
Good to deal with, good piece of kit. You can set up alarms, dim the display when you put the lights on, etc. I would get the housing/enclosure and the probe for it. I had a ***** of a time trying to find a mount to fit nicely on the dash of the 200 Disco. 3 plus years and totally reliable.

had mine for approx 2 years-excellent, mates have fitted the same and all are happy
I usually fit the probe to that plate, but note you need to tap it at an angle (or offset upwards from centre) so the probe tip doesn't touch the manifold. To refit the plate you need a bit of high temp silicone or muffler putty as the gasket is a bit crumbly and won't reseal.
I haven't seen a low water alarm from Auber's. Dave (Incisor) has them, ebay has them, but so long as your Auber temp gauge sender was mounted to the head itself then you would be able to use the over-temp alarm.
As I have little knowledge regards welding at the angle you suggest, would it be possible for you to make the plate up for me with correct angle. If you could do this and show me where you connect the 12v connection on fuse box I would be very grateful. Of course I will pay you for your help and assistance. If you can PM on this forum,Iwould appreciate your help.I have ordered the EGT gauge plus oil pressure gauges from Auber Instruments. Thank You for photo on line, and hoping to hear from you regards above request lucky lozza![]()
Welding? No welding required. You pilot drill a 3/16" hole slightly offset towards the top of the cavity behind, then drill it 11/32" at a bit of an angle towards the up direction, then buy* and use a 1/8 BSPT tap or ask a local shop to tap it for you.

12V ignition source can be found at the fuse box, its just under the steering wheel, use a multi meter or RAVE manual to find a suitable wire/fuse. Or tap into the ignition key wires, fat yellow wire in a black tube, use a fuse in line to the gauge.
bee_utey - any reason I would need the L shaped probe?

And not the cheaper one?

Planning to buy one of these, just a matter of pros/cons to the 2 options...
And where did you mount it? Does it fit OK in the blanking plate below the clock on a Disco 300TDI? Cheers.
