Clutch
The young fellas Disco 1 Tdi 200 1993
We replaced the clutch with a heavy duty unit when we reco'd the Gearbox & T/Case two years ago Over the past two years the Master & Slave Cylinders have been changed along with the Inline Fluid Dampener the one close to the Slave Cyld.
After bleeding the gear changes are good for sometime then double de clutching is required. We sorted out the pedal clearance and there is no fluid loss.
Does the HD clutch need a longer travel cyld? I was about to fit a flat plate with an M8 threaded hole; in place of the Slave Cyld, then screw a threaded bar in and on to the release arm measuring the full travel. Also what is the dampener for?Suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks Ollie

If the Disco had a used early R380 (from a later Disco), I'd say it was the normal sign of wear of gearbox syncros ( partial cure use synthetic oil). But the LT77 generally doesn't have that problem (I think).
There isn't any difference in the travel for either clutch, so there's no changes in rod needed. And the dampener is there because of the diesel has 'pulses' apparently (?). The slave cylinder is notoriously difficult to bleed. Do some searches on the forum re that and disco clutch and they might give you some ideas.
Try a gearbox oil change - couldn't hurt.

Our old LT77 is the same. New master and slave and throwout lever.
Still graunches going into third. Have to double clutch and get the revs right. Synchro in that gear worn out I guess. Just going to live with it untill it gives up.
Just bought a spare box on ebay. Picking it up today.
