    Door lock cam

    Does anyone know where my son can get a plastic cam RH for front door of 1996 Disco? See pic of broken cam

    Mine broke about a month ago.
    Get yourself a piece of flat aluminium the thickness of the main flat section. Don't worry about the raised bits. Cut and file it to the correct shape and fit it.
    Works fine.
    I think you can get the part on its own from UK but that takes time.
    I couldn't lock my vehicle without it so fabricated my own.

    Thanks Warren,

    I will have go at making one, too as we cant lock the vehicle either. Do you recall if there is a lug on the inner hole of the cam? As you can see in the pic. there is a section missing that would align with a keyway.

    That is correct.
    There is a built in key on the plastic cam. It will be where the broken bit is.
    If you look in the bottom of your door you should find the missing piece of the cam. If you superglue it into place you can use the old cam as a template. It won't be strong enough to use in the vehicle but good enough for a template.
