Any alternative to tacho pickup off alternator
I ask because a workshop had my alternator reconditioned last week, but the one that came back from the reconditioner doesn't seem to have the fitting for the tacho to pickup the pulse.
Is there any alternative to sending it back for them to supply the right one? It can't pickup from anywhere else, I assume?

In a 300tdi - no. I wonder if they broke the spade fitting for the taco during the reco process?

If you are game to open it up (ask your supplier for advice) you need to solder a short wire to any of the 3 main stator (field coil) connections, hang it out the back and you have a tacho feed.

The workshop says the reconditioner says they put the wrong backing on it and they're going to fix it, so that's good.
