If her problem is the key fob then he must still have his immobiliser in play which I would be getting that bypassed quick smart. There is no way the fob would be effecting the aircon i would have thought though???

Also I thought if the immobiliser was playing up you would have nothing!! When turning the key not clicking. As said above clicking usually indicates a dead battery

However if it's fixed it that's great just all seems a bit odd that this fob has caused issues. If it was a TD5 I could believe it as the fob it's self as to be near the ignition for the immobiliser the electrics are just not that fancy in a TDI
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

if all else fails, how much does he want for the Disco ??

Then I discovered that the thing had only played its tricks when his wife was driving (not casting aspersions here - it's a relevant bit of evidence). A bit of a hypothesis began to form....

To make a short story long, and after a bit of a look at my mate fiddling with the keys trying to get the thing to start, it occurred that the whole problem could be her key fob.

A new wee battery in the key fob, and suddenly the problem disappeared.

Fingers crossed that all will be well now.

Shame, though. One of us nearly scored a $500 Discovery....

    Thanks,

    buggar, (great outcome though )
