I have the spare on at the moment. but its not in the best shape either. the car has to have a wheel alignment but that wont happen till monday if i can get someone to work on it. Im deffinately not having you savage your truck. Although i appreciate the offer. i may have to buy the bighorns and hope. then save some more money to get the flares and cut done.

i May have to take you up on the offer of the At's if i dont ahve new tyres by the sunny corner trip tho.

    I've been thinking about getting the 31x10.5 R15 KM2 for my D1.
I run 245x75x16 KM2's on my D1 with a 2 inch lift and a camel cut....and yes we like to play.......I can tell you they **** all over bighorns for traction and general wear I'll be looking at about 75-80,000 k's out of this set at the current wear rate.........I think your mad for even considering bighorns buts that's my opinion.

Sorry caitens that wasn't directed at you I was trying back you up with your KM2's theory & if I was you I'd be putting them on your truck without thinking twice.

Sorry thomas can't use my set for that, as these are my highway terrains technically, they are on my ally rims and I dont have a spare....so dont want them out getting mashed up on the rocks..

if you need them to just get about though no problems.

Sorry Lou. i didnt realise. No problems.

The bighorns are a choice inside my price range. I was forced into getting tyres by accident and i cant afford 300+ per tyre. Ive heard good things about them and they are well priced.

Well its pretty much set im getting the bighorns, im of to source a set of steel rims to put them on, tomorrow morning.... LVS here i come.

245/75R16 will be a bit of an improvement in width and sidewall height.

Then to build the confidence and find someone with the knowledge and willingness to help me to trim the guards.

Thanks all for the Input, it is muchly appreciated.

Hopefully the Disco will drive straight by mid week and on new Rubber too.

Does anyone run 245/75 r16? Any problems. My D1 is lifted 2in but has not had the gaurds trimmed.
I also run 245/75 Bighorn's on my D1. I did a rear guard camel cut myself with some sheet metal snips.

You will also notice that you need a bit more power to get going on these tyres and fuel consumption will be worse by 1-2 L/100. Depends how much you care about speed going up a steep hill in 5th on the freeway.

I bought mine a few weeks ago from Tyres, Wheels, Rims, Brakes & Suspension: JAXQuickfit Tyres
    $275 each fitted.

So it appears that steel rims arent that easy to come by. im waiting on a call from TR spares, to pick up a set of four factory spare wheels of the discos. Then off to the tyre place in the Morning. Then Hopefully a camel cut next week.
