Following from firefoxes post we are trying to get his wheel off and one of the wheel nut covers is slipping on the inner nut is there an easy way of getting it off.

27 mm socket fits the cover but it just turns you can turn it by hand dont need the socket but the nut itself doesnt turn![]()
I suppose thread damage could be the cause and the nut is also spinng but not loosening or tightening with a steel wheel I would just break the stud![]()
Its not a locknut with the cover on it is it ?

no wish it was, he,s off to the tyre shop for maxxis bighorns so its their problem now![]()
I trust he has these wheel nuts:
In that case it is only breaking the cover (not difficult, it is basically tinfoil only) and loosen the nut with a suitable wrench and socket (size 27)
