    300 tdi filters

Hi All,I am doing a service on my 300tdi shortly.Having been employed in the Auto Replacement Parts Industry prior to my retirement,I can still get a reasonable discount for my personal vehicle. My question is, Ryco filter suitability for oil air and fuel.Has anyone experienced trouble with these items. Thanks for your advice Regards lucky lozza.

nope the rycos are fine however......

there are a few numbers that match and the last set i got had a smaller package( as in the filter not the box it came in was either narrower or shorter) size than the normal filters I use, the implicaiton being that they have a smaller filter media in them so might not last as long as the lager items...

So far no-one whose vehicle I have serviced using their provided ryco filters have had any complaints. Ryco also make a few different packages that fit into the fuel water seperator setup on the tdiX00 vehicles.

I'm using Ryco and the filters are definitely smaller than LR genuine. For the price of a filter though, I just change it more often. More changes with Ryco beats less changes with LR genuine in my opinion.

I just bought 1 of these, good quality and cheap. What more can you ask for. Delivery to South Oz was 1 week. This kit is cheaper than I can get a fuel filter here. If the local shops wont-cant compete on price ill shop elsewhere.

not saying that that particular supplier is a problem but be careful ordering from Ebay..

Ive had one service kit supplied that the air filter had been crushed
(presumably in the post as there was no boxing, everything was supplied in plastic wrap and a postbag) and there was no oring on the oil filter and a second that had been supplied with the incorrect fuel filter in the correctly labeled box.

Filters are not sieves (as I have posted many times on here). So changing a filter too frequently means that the your air/oil/fuel in your engine will be dirtier!
