    Disco 1/Safari Snorkel template

    G'day Folks,

I am on the scab for a Safari Snorkel template. Brad at KLR Automotive in Kingswood won't put the snorkel on my machine unless he has the template. I can't say that I really blame him, I wouldn't be keen to do it either. Does anybody in the Sydney area have a template that I could borrow? I am willing to pay bribes with mining currency (i.e beer or scotch)

Is it a genuine Safari or a rip off? Is it new or secondhand?

Don't know how similar they are but have a D2 version that we used for my dads's non abs one. With a lot of checking and judicious measurement everything worked out. Also used for my D2, Yorkies and someone elses. The **** template...

Available if you want to try it under the rules of **** items.

Next person to receive must retain, keep in good order and advertise as available when finished with and forward onto next user under same conditions.

Another club I was in had a **** car that lived for years like that. Community contributions on a by the month basis, for a car to use while your "project" was off the road.

    Me too

If Diesel1 borrows the template, I am more than happy to pick up from him in Sydney and then follow the rules.
    PM me with the details.
    Many thanks,
    Lee

    OK,

    So here goes,

I'm giving it to Jeff on Sunday at Jellore, Foxspell will see him the following Saturday at Ourimbah. I would then take it to Aberdeen.

    Yes?

I cannot believe how good you lot are. First up, I have moved from Aberdeen. I am a diesel fitter, & I used to work for BHP, Mt Arthur Coal mine in Muswellbrook. I don't live in the Hunter anymore, as I scored a job building CAT dump trucks with Westrac at FMG Solomon mine, 2 weeks on, 1 week off. I now live down the coast at Helensburgh.

Second thing. I had a chat with Safari, & they just don't want to know about selling you a template. I will also need a mounting kit, & whilst they are available, they are nearly as much as a complete snorkel. Safari have done their marketing homework. ARB in Penrith are holding a $500 deposit for a dual battery kit, so I am going to add to the order & tell them to order a brand new snorkel & be done with it.

TRS in Adelaide sold me the original snorkel from a wreck, I only paid $245 for it. I am only to willing to part with it for what I paid for it, to help somebody else out who has a template and a mounting kit to solve somebody else's puzzle.

Thanks heaps for your help folks.
