When I had my v8 disco I used E10 a number of times, the vehicle it self went ok but I did have problems with the fuel gauge surging. Wether this was just a co-incidence or not I can't say but it only happened when using E10.

Just about to put my 1994 discovery 3.9 V8 back onto the road after a fairly big rebuild, and I was wondering if I can use the E10 fuel for my engine.
I went to the E10 website and they say it is ok to use, but I would like to know if anyone else has used it and or recommends it, and if there is any associated problems.

Have used E10 on 95 V8 since we bought it in 2005.![]()
Personally, i wouldn't use 91/E10 in my lawnmower.
Over the years we have taken economy records on a number of car we have owned using 91/E10 and 95/98 fuels. VS Comodore, Subaru Liberty, V6 Pajero, 1.3 Suzuki Seirra all ran better, and were cheaper to run on 95 or 98 than the lower grade stuff.
Wifes D1, my Rangie and Sierra all get filled with 95/98.
Never had a problem with any of my fuel system in 12 years using United Plus ULP 95.
We used to put E10 in our 05 honda (our only petrol vehicle,) until our check engine light came on, the filler says ok to use E10. We took it to our mechanic and he asked if we used E10, he said it cruds up the engine as it burns dirtier and rougher, and to use 95 or 98, saying that it would cost less in the end as you get more out of a tank and that the 95/98 had more detergents and things to keep the engine cleaner internally so would last longer. It hasn't had E10 since, the light has gone away and it idles better than it did. Not a Land Rover, but i suppose the same goes for all engines that run on E10?
before the disco we had an '83 Laser Ghia as the main car and i found out that i could get more power and further mileage out of the 95/98 fuel anything from 50klm or more form a tank that only held 40 litres.
on another note i have used the E10 in my Honda mower with no problems until lately when it wouldn't start or run, found out it had rust in the bottom of the fuel bowl, cleaned it out and a bit of a run later it came good

I took my 3 Jerry cans to the petrol station and there was no e10 anyway, so that made my decision easy.

We used to use e10 in the veteran cars, mowers, motorbike and dune buggy, basically anything that was petrol (all the modern cars are diesel LOL), Terrible **** caused problems with everything we ran on it, every bit of rubber needed replacing, and i rebuilt the carburettors on everything, got expensive when we had to replaced the rubber carburettor adapters on the Honda in my buggy, thats when i said enough is enough, and run everything on 98 now, and it all goes a ****load better, stuff the greenists i have too much mechanical sympathy, we will have hydrogen cars before it matters and petrol/diesel cars will be for enthusiasts to use on the weekend much like horses are now
