Thread: Prospective discovery buyer

I am looking at buying a discovery 1 tdi auto. I would like to know what you guys think the problems are with these trucks and what to look out for when looking at trucks for sale. It will be a weekender getaway vehicle and not a daily driver. Any help would be very grateful. I want an auto so the misses can drive also.

I have bought the same veh approx 3 months ago, didnt know much about them and still learning, I find the TD5 engine good on power and torque on and offroad, great fuel economy 10l 100/klm around town, parts and general service items are cheap and easily sourced eg full filter kit delivered $60, really cant say anything I dont like about them, I love the driving position and all round visibility, I stayed away from the SLS and no 7 seat model as I didnt need the extra seats, all I can say is look for a model with the lowest K's you can get and the usual things you look for in any other car, I removed the EGR and fitted blanking kit and fitted a snorkel, am I happy with it? you bet I am and I dont think you will be disappionted, both my wife and son love driving it, hope this helps
