235/85 are a great size tyre, i have them on my disco
Im new to buying 4x4 tires, well all things 4x4 really, so when i was looking for some smallish mud tires that wouldn't compromise gear ratio i couldn't seem to find any in 16s. Was getting well confused with the sizes:eek: I think I'm a little more switched on to it now. I don't really want to do the camel cut. But i will if it is totally necessary.
Are there mud tires that are also ok in sand? Is wider better in sand?
The reason i don't want to go too big is that i will be towing a boat on long trips.
I have also found an old man emu 2inch lift on a d1 at the local do it your self wreckers so will be installing that first.
Yeah I took the disco out on Saturday. A lot of rub n scrubs but I've just lifted it yesterday do should be fine next time. It's only weekend bush bash car so rub n scrub is fine. But with the +2" lift I dare say it'll only carry on with big flex
See my earlier post.
All you've done is alter static height.
If it rubbed, it will rub - unless....
The coils fitted to give the lift are so stiff they don't flex as much...
In which case the vehicle is now worse off road than before.

Well b4 lift it was giving me scrub even when just hitting little rise in roads. What I mean to say is , I think I will only hear the rub n scrub when off road. But I don't have a complete understanding just yet on static hight etc. so I could be wrong. Maybe it's worse now, who knows. I did have issues with full lock also, obviously they won't change either, I'll be doing a search to find the fix you all use to stop lock rubsQuote:

my D1 is up for some new tyres soon and I am deliberating on what size to go to without cutting and flaring the guards.
Those guys with 265/75/16's, could you post some pics please so I can see how they look ;)
thanks
