I thought CV's clicked when they failed I would say A fram ball joint or a fail bushing

    mormans....

if its a nice even continuous click most likely its CV/s or a UJ. hard to check without pulling the hub down so thats one for preocess of elimination

if its a clunk on and off then its most likely tcase lash or the ball joint but it can also be the locating bushes on the axle for the locating arms or radius rods. check the bushes by prying with a large screwdriver and the ball joint by applying the hand brake hard, selecting neutral then rocking the vehicle back and forth by hand.

if its a little random then its a failing wheel bearing the quick check for that is if it quiets down under brakes. to eliminate this completely jack the wheels up one at a time and check for rim rock. anything more than 1mm or so at the rim lip is out of spec and requires a bearing check and adjust.

    Question

Easy check, I know you said originally noise from the rear, then determined front, have you checked the rubber/fabric donut (if fitted) on the rear prop shaft to diff drive at the rear diff flange?
Because the vehicle is constant 4X4 any noises are hard to isolate to either end.
