How to completely drain the coolant?

I've got a 1993 v8i and need to drain the coolant but can't see the drain plug - any tips would be greatly appreciated.

If there isn't one, could i simply remove one of the pipes and let it pump out until dry? (whilst keeping a close eye on temp)

Anyway, as i said, any help would be hugely appreciated.

undo the bottom rad hose, if your changing to a different type of coolant, undo top and bottom hose, remove thermostat, open up heater and flush through with the hose until clear then blow through lightly with air to remove all the water then fill with new coolant

Bah, I never drain coolant 100%. Drain what you can and collect for disposal, then flush the system with clean water until the outlets run clean. Refill with concentrate and water, never "complete fill" coolant. That way you never need to carry coolant in the vehicle, only drinking quality water. Add water if needed on the road and add concentrate when you get home.

When I got my 1994 disco V8i auto serviced, the landy mechanic suggested that I should change the coolant from Green (current) to Red, said the Red was better for older V8i, something to do with the alloy metals used to build the earlier model engines v later models.

    Your thoughts appreciated

I generally use nulon products and their recommendation is for the red (OAT) coolant so thats what i run. No issues yet

I disconnect one of the heater hoses, plug a hose (I use the rain water tank hose) onto that and then turn the hose on while the engines running, when the water is coming out clear dump a radiator hose off (after you turn the engine off) put it back on, IF your going to do a chemical flush, add that, top up and bleed the system and then repeat the process prior to adding the coolant.
