Hi. Every set of springs I have fitted were different messurements which is possibly to do with the camber of the road.
Regards Shane.
Installed my mates rates 2" lift kit from suspension stuff this morning.
A little disappointed with the result, uneven heights and extremely harsh ride.
(much worse than before)
For those interested. Height measured from centre of hub to bottom of guard.
Before After
Front Right 435 485
Front Left 450 500
Rear Right 445 540
Rear Left 460 550
I've sent an email to them, I think I'm gonna have to change them - They're not very comfy on the road, I'll see what they say...

Was interested in buying that kit myself. Will be interesting to see what they say! Other people on here have given them Rave reviews??
It's a natural trait for D1's to sit lower on the drivers side. Even when corrected it usualy returns. You do know that the springs are handed, this means that they need to go in the correct side to sit level.
Cheers, David.

gday all i have fitted same kit to my disco around 1 year ago. from the start the kit did not sit right and i have made sure that the right springs are in the right spot, checked over the part numbers with the staff i got the kit off to make sure they sent me the correct springs . the problem i have is that my disco is sitting nose down a fair bit i have contacted the shop were i got the kit from and they said they would work my problem out and get back to me. havent herd a thing.
Well, I sent an email to them, and to their credit, I have already heard back.
There will be a bit of back and forth before we work out where to from here, but I get the feeling they are genuinely interested and willing to help me get something I am happy with. So far so good...
I knew the springs were handed, so I took care to install as labelled. However I am now fairly sure I installed them the wrong way around as I think the labels were wrong!
The springs I installed were 240lb/in spring rate - which seems high to me, but I guess it's subjective and depends a lot on what kind of load/driving you do...
Someone may be able to clarify this for me - The springs I removed, I think are original, they are all around 390mm free length.
Most lift kits I see have similar free length front springs, but with a higher spring rate (hence the 'lift') but they have longer rear springs (mine were 440ish) again with a higher spring rate.
Why are the fronts not a longer spring as well? Wouldn't a slightly longer spring with a lower spring rate not only improve the ride on road, but also improve articulation off road?

i'm not actually sure what the complaint is? that is some of the most even heights i have ever seen side to side from a spring lift. the fronts lifted at the same height, and the rears are only 5mm off side to side. are you complaining about the difference front to rear? and do you have stuff like bullbar, winch, dual batts, rear bar etc installed?
your start measurements are all over the shop. after fiitting the new springs, but front was raised 50mm exactly, the rear was both raised 95 and 90mm respectively, so they werent far off being an uneven lift. sounds to me like you got front V8 without bullbar or winch front springs...
I put a kit in a mates Mitsubishi challenger recently. We. Got 15mm difference side to side in the rear of that vehicle after the lift. I think the front was fairly close, but that's a Torsion bar setup.
