3.9 V8i loses power with no load

    Morning all,
I have a 1997 V8 auto D1 that at times loses power, but only when you are off the throttle, to overcome it all you have to do is apply the throttle and it will drive through it. It feels more like ignition than fuel as the off power / on power are both very sharp.
Then last Sunday went for a play in some sandhills and twice after prolonged (30 seconds)high revs the engine developed a bad miss, that went away after 20 seconds off the throttle. This happened 2 consecutive times.
I realise these 2 symptoms may be unrelated.
I have replaced the amp module and the fuel filter in an attempt to cure the first issue.
    Many thanks,
    Lee

When you replaced the ignition module did you do the Bosch upgrade?

If you get a LPG safety cut-out and wire it to the coil lead, use it to drive a light on the dash, when the ignition fails the light will go out. Otherwise, injection failure will give exactly the same symptom, as injection is driven by a white/black stripe wire connected to the coil negative terminal. Make sure all coil terminals are sufficiently tight to resist casual pull-off. Remove all terminals, squeeze with pliers, refit.
