auto sparky gripe and a question bit longish

just need to vent some, fortnight ago air cond stopped working in the disco, I found a loose connection had let the gas out. booked it in to my local sparky, had it semi sorted out, (300 plus dollars) he got it working but had to bypass the relay as the compressor clutch wasnt coming on, so he got it working but when i got the disco home and checked the work done , found he hadnt put my car together properly, relays in engine bay not secured and the grill was in place but had no fasteners, fuming I went back and got him to put it back together. he was very apologetic. in the mean time I bought a camper trailer and booked the disco in to get anderson plug and large seven pin plug fitted. I went through the job with the person I booked the job with, specifying the three things I wanted done to the car, aircon fixed properly, anderson plug and seven pin plug. the day before car due in I rang them and spoke to the same person making sure everything was ready to be done, dropped the car off in the morning handed the keys to the same person spoke with him again as to what I wanted to be done. yep no worries I am told. get a phone call at midday to say my car is ready, go to pick it up, only the aircon is done, not happy, ask the boss whats going on, told there was a break down in communication, car will be ready that arvo, call them before closing time, car wont be ready until the next day, midday, less happy, but they didnt charge me to refix the aircond and put it right after the supposed bypass of the relay but charged me 470$ to fit a seven pin plug and anderson plug, seems quite steep to me. picked up car yesterday, today the bloody aircond stops working, comp clutch not turning on again, checked fuses etc, allgood, checked compressor relay certainly not a new one couldnt find the problem with the aircon, taking it back monday morning, its hard as the are the only auto sparkies in town. any comments on this saga or ideas on the non working aircon please? they have been very polite and apologetic the whole way through but whats goin on?
    thanks

If the gas has leaked out again over the last week, then maybe to low-pressure cutout switch is preventing the clutch from engaging?

    I agree with scanfor.

most likely its leaking from a porous hose or seal, if your unlucky its a cracked evaporator.

if thats the case the phrase "hmm, big job that one" is going to come your way.

but as you;ve had the vehicle in for AC repair and they've invoiced, billed and sent it out as fixed without doing full diagnostics on it and finding the leak then in theory the most they should be able to charge you is the cost for parts that they need to replace to rectify the leak. in a best world scenario you dont even need to pay that.
