can you get a photo of the plugs?
Morning
Need to replace a factory tape player/cd controler in a d1 that has the power amp in it . I did a seach and found info for the base model but not much for the one with the amp . The diagram in the Haynes manual does not match or identify the wiring I have .
Posts on here say these are standard iso plugs , by that I assume you mean the plugs in the back of the unit ( 3 of ) . I was expecting a short adapter harness .
The radio going in has to power amp outputs but are RCA , searching ebay shows adapters to have these . So I guess I just need one of these and the three plugs that were in the radio go into the adapter ?
Unless someone has a better diagram of the wiring so I can see what are the feeds to the power amp ( suspect its the plug with the four black and 4 different colour wires but don't want to find out the hard way its not)
Stupid simple question I hope
Thanks
Chris
can you get a photo of the plugs?
You can buy Aerpro ISO adapter looms to suit all stereo makes, in oz these are found at autobarn and supercheap auto so you should be able to get them at supercheap in NZ.

I read in a searched thread that supercheap had some so I looked on line and went in to a store today to have a look . None of them had the rca plugs for the power amp output from the new ( old bur new to the disco ) radio . I googled last night and some iso adapters had the rca plugs , do you think I could find them today , nooo , grrr .
Even if it had the wrong plug for the new radio I could rewire that end as I would know what pins the amp used .
I did not think to take a pic of the plugs , next time the old radio is out I will . It is just three plugs all pretty much the same , one black , one pink and forgot the last one . All the harnesses at supercheap only had two but the third may have been for the cd changer , that will not be used anymore .
Judging by the colours the two plug leads had one plug for speaker wires and one for power , elec aerial etc . That makes sense for the base model radio diagram in the hanes manual and the parts disco .
Thanks
Chris
Wont the RCA's be present in the new head unit ?

And you are surprised? They're not called the Haynes Book of Lies for nothing. I bought two different editions of the same Haynes book no. to get most of the Peugeot 405 info I needed - even then it didn't have the right wiring diagrams and I got those from a chap in the UK who copied them from a genuine manual.
If your D1 is post-1995, buy yourself a RAVE CD with the correct workshop manual and electrical troubleshooting manual ETM (all the wiring diagrams).
Does this (from the ETM) describe yours:
CIRCUIT OPERATION
The audio system consists of a new head unit and
for mid/high range it is equipped with a subwoofer
and subwoofer amplifier. For mid and high range
the system also is equipped with a radio waveband
switch and a tune switch, a volume up and a
volume down switch which are located on the
fascia next to the instrument cluster.
The control head is equipped with an anti–theft
feature which makes the unit inoperative once
battery power is removed. A security code must be
entered to restore power to the unit. On every level
the system is equipped with two rear and two front
speakers.
Battery voltage is provided to the control head at all
times through the P wire. In addition to monitoring
the anti–theft feature, this input keeps the preset
station memory alive. Whenever battery power to
the unit is lost, the anti–theft code must be entered
and the preset stations must be reprogrammed.
When the Radio (Z111) and the ignition are turned
on, the voltage signal through the LGO wire and
the control head wakes up the unit. The Radio
(Z111) plays, the VF display comes on and the
control unit buttons illuminate. The VF display is
dimmed when the headlights or park lights are
turned on. When the lights are on, voltage from
fuse F8 of the Fascia Fusebox (P126) is applied to
the Radio (Z111) terminal 6, connector 230
signalling the Radio (Z111) to dim the display.

I was just wondering, do all discos have the subwoofers? where abouts are they? mine has custom draws in the back so they might be hidden? or are they supposed to be in the door. im willing to bet a beer that mine doesnt have one.
thanks
