Thread: help need please which part is broken?

front passenger window goes down but not up, motor makes a whirring sound trying to push window up, rollers in lower window channel are fine.
Is the the regulator mechanism or gears on the motor or where the motor connects to the regulator?? do I need to source a new regulator

Sometimes the window goes too far down ( missing or damaged bump stops just like for the axle) and one of the guides pops off the end of the runner. You can use 5/8 radiator blanking plugs as a replacement for the bump stops - you may have to adjust the bump stop bolts- it's a little fiddly.

Otherwise, you'll see if the regulator is shot when you remove it.
