    Viscous fan removal

    Just need to know what size the nut on the back of the fan is so i can go buy the right tool.

    32mm (same as a Falcon ?) and it's a left hand thread.

    Should only need a light tap to get it off, and the spanners are pretty cheap.

    Hi dirtdawg. Only a new member and just lookin through this site. Just came across this post. I have just recently taken my viscous fan off a 3.9l v8 and it was a 36mm spanner that I ended up having to go out and buy. I do know on ebay there is a specific tool that can be bought and has both a 32 and 36mm end. I wasnt patient enough and just bought the spanner I needed

    Lol I was just about to post that I know now that the tdi is 32mm and the v8 is 36mm, I did the same and just bought a 36 mm spanner it does the job
