Or possibly running Delco EFI (what Holden used for years on anything injected, ie: Camira, Astra, Commodore V6 and V8).
It is something that I have long considered, but have never yet done.
I have looked in to the delco conversion for a rover v8, it can be done fairly easily, it might be something i have a play with in future still. From what i remember it would require using some parts from a Camira distrubutor, and fitting some of the sensors and computer from a 3.8L or 5L commodore and using a loom from a v8 commodore, the tune have to be custom made to suit, my mate has done this quite a bit with old school holden 6cyl's running delco and was confident he could do the same with a rover v8 tune for me.
I also read some comments a while back about a holden v6 timing cover fitting on the rover v8 because of there buick roots, if this is the case you could do away with the distributor and use a coil pack off a holden v8 most likely as you could use the crank sensor located in the timing cover of the v6.
I have 2 buick V6's sitting at home and yes the timing covers off a carby V6 do fit and possibly even the later VN era EFI cover may fit, not sure about the crank snout and balancer though.
I also have a series II VN V6 here (short motor) that i can look at , you would need a custom crank ring made or converted off another engine to fit. I had a bosch holden V8 dizzy in my old rangie and used the V6 drive gear on it.

Have recently seen a 1995 D1 with a VN/ VP 5L engine fitted, hooked up to the ZF, trans is misbehaving a little at the moment but all in all a good looking conversion.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Why bother as you can buy the parts for RV8 from here.
