    Couple of little issues

Hey everyone, I have a few issues I wanted to ask you guys in regards to my 96 Disco 300TDI.

    1. At times in the morning (happened twice last week), the take up point for the clutch is really close to the floor and as I bring my foot back up it stops momentarily before returning to the top of it's travel. After around 20mins of driving, the peddle returns to how it normally feels, where the take up point is a lot closer to the top of its travel and the action is smoother.

    2. At extremely slows speeds, especially down hill (I think, could be the imagination) I get a slight tink tink tink noise. It sounds like something in the driveline. It is only slight and doesn't happen all the time. I'm not sure if it is something I need to be worried about as I have heard several other Discos making the same noise. I notice it more often when I am offroad, probably as I am crawling over thing more often.

    3. The light for the CDL doesn't display, I have tested the globe to be working and cant see anything wrong with the wiring in the dash. The CDL is definitely engaging as I have tested this, just no light.

    4. I can't keep the old girl clean, every time she gets a whiff of dirt we somehow end up on it, it's just embarrassing!! Ok, alright, not really an issue, but I really love the Disco, it really hasn't let me down yet. I have thrown it into some interesting situations and she hasn't complained a bit, just kept on moving.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome.

    Chris

    1. Sounds like slave cylinder. Have a look for leaking fluid or just sticking or air in the system.
    2. Check your universal joints and backlash.
    3. Remove the switch and check it is working or it may be jammed. Mine took a couple of goes and then it freed up and works now but I thought I might have to remove it to fix it.
    4. Marry a car detailer.
    Cheers
