    D1 Front Seat options.

Gday. My drivers seat broke a while ago and is stuck in one position that is not very comfortable for me and i am just curious if there is a more comfortable seat that i can replace it with while i look to replace it.

I heard from someone a while ago that the electric seats out a D2 may fit. Is this true or wishful thinking?

I dont have a problem with the standard seats, i am just wondering if there are any alternatives.

    Cheers in advance, Thomas.

Thomas I can give you a seat for the disco we have two in the shed its blue but you could get a cheap seat cover to go over the top....

One of the seats is pulled apart as I took a lumbar support out but you can have this passenger seat all it will do is put the recline on the wrong side...still it will see you through until you get something better.

    And D2 seats don't fit

You can return it to the tip I don't want it.. Been trying to get rid of the bloody things for ages I literally only brought the seat for the lumbar support.

Is the lumbar support mechanism repairable?

Yes. Pull the seat out, take off the control knobs then peel the cover off the seat back only, its easy enough, you don't need tools as it all held in place by plastic strips. The lumbar support is controlled by a tension strap, usually it breaks on the opposite side to the control (had this happen twice now in different vehicles). Loosen the control knob to the loosest setting, then get some heavy wire and re-secure the strap to the seat frame as tight as you can get it. I also used a section of blue camping mattress under the strap for extra support. You can't feel it as it is under the main section of seat foam. Replace the seat cover and it should be good to go. On the loosest setting the seat feels OK, then wind it as normal to provide more support. If you have run out of time, swap the left and right seat - they are both the same only the knob is on the opposite side but is still useable and fits. Good luck.
