Thread: D1 Auto's

Hi everyone,

For those that have disco 300 auto's.....
My auto disco seems really slow in acceleration when on the move,especially in 3rd and 4th.

I've noticed that when it gets to roughly 2100-2300 revs it will go up a gear.
3rd gear @ 60kph is roughly 18-1900 revs
4th gear @ 80kph is roughly around the 1300 revs.
That seems to me to be low revs.
My manual 200 tdi @ 80k's is roughly 2100,so its on song to give me the boost if I want to overtake,where as the 300 seems to take forever as the turbo isnt singing yet.

Could these figures be right ?

I tend to push mine pretty hard and do notice the dip when accelerating from around 70- 80+ when you hit 4th and the converter locks.
At 2100 rpm i get 100kph and 2250 at 110kph, i think about 2000 rpm for 80kph.
