I have had good runs with Lovells 2" lift springs, presently have Old Man Emu 2" lift springs with Bilstien shocks and steering damper, Bilsteins are on their 3rd Disco, Regards Frank.
Disco owners,
I'm in the middle of choosing new springs and shocks for my 96tdi (so many choices).
I am steering towards the new x5k heavy duty king springs (anyone had any experience with these?)
I have chosen heavy duty as I have an arb bar with winch to come and dual battery and in the rear I have fridge, heavy shelving system, rear bar to come plus use the car for towing. Kings say they will also raise the car 30mm
As this is the case should I be getting extended shocks. I was going to choose heavy duty bilsteins (truckspring.com) If I use standard length will this limit flex?(bottoming out on shock? Is this bad?)
I would love to hear opinions and experience and if anyone knows a good set up, not really after a big lift a little extra height would be good but mainly wanting it to handle the weight and drive comfortably.
Thanks

I installed a 40mm lift kit from tough dog a couple of months ago.. it actually lifted it 60mm over the previous set...
I have pretty much the exact same vechicle, including the winch and fridge, and it handles beautifully now, a little firmer than before, but gives you the bonus of steering and breaking at the same time! Heaps more flex off road too.
It cost me a smidge over $1000 (it was on special) and i fitted it myself.. really impresed with it, reccommend it. Youll find it online or at Oppositelock.
Currently have bilsteins allround and king springs.Running 145x75s on the disco.Handles okay.![]()
LRA springs and Bilsteins
very similar car setup to yours
true 2 inch lift
hub centre to guard 520mm rear and 515 front
Thanks, those with lifts, are you on extended shocks too? What happens if you use standard length?
I run the suspension stuffs mates rates 2 inch lift kit and installed plenty of them.
Never had any major dramas.
