Looking at the nice one in the morning......hoping it comes up as nice as the pics!
Good solid advice there I think....top of the line would be cool but a constant worry....
No, I'm nowhere near Evandale, more like New Norfolk....
TD5 is tempting....but a really good one seems to be out of my price.
Seeing some sweet looking rigs on the big island, but I'm very wary of buying from there as I would like to get it checked by a specialist and no way am I buying sight unseen without a VERY good bill of health from someone I trust....
Not buying a V8 now....but never know, might find a dented cheap manual one down the track for peanuts and just lift, winch, and bush tracks here we come....
This one needs to be a daily as well.
7 seat conversion, hard to track down?
Expensive?

Well I've just been to look at it....
Very nice vehicle with only a few small issues...
Metallic bronze paint is starting to break down on bonnet and roof.
Slight bubbling around the alpine windows.
Exterior door handles are sitting in a bit, not quite flush.
Central locking not working.
Headlining sagging.
Drivers door card cracked on top.
Instrument cluster cover is broken at the bottom where the securing screws go in.
Cover on ashtray/coin drawer is missing.
Steering wheel surface is breaking down a bit.
Indicators no self canceling.
Gearshift fairer is torn.
Shift gate into 4th needs adjusting, goes in nice but needs to be held off to one side slightly.
On the good side, it's an S so no ABS to worry about.
Nearly new tyres.
ARB bull bar.
Had loads done to it, PS pump, belts, timing, head gasket, all fluids, thermostat, heavy duty aftermarket fuel filter with water trap etc etc.
Think if the bank says yes tomorrow that I'll get JC to give it a full hoist inspection.
Forgot to add it has an electric brake controller and just had new clutch, master, slave, reinforced fork....
as a girly owner of a 95 3 dr v8 rossignoli edition from 113xxxk to 240xxxkm over 3 year period, i had very little problem. starter motor failed very soon after purchase and was replaced under dealer warranty and the racv took us home one other time for some reason but wasnt severe. only other let down was lpg, and it was great mostly, just had to replace mixer at one stage and once or twice over the years the gas froze in the lines if i missed the start and would take some time to get over itself and go. it did however chew through leads pretty well, every year on the dot nearly i'd have to replace them after an uncomfortable backfire reminder under acceleration up a hill whenon gas and yes i had the expensive gas compatible ones as recommended by the bosch mob. never ever a miss on petrol. brake or clutch, cant remember master cylinder kit couple hundred fitted thanks to cluey mechanic or i would have been up for 800ish but he remembered about the kit
prior owner to me apparently put a bit of money in to it though don't recall what; so when i went searching again for discos i was keen to find those over 125xxxk on the theory that the worst should be over by then, though i ended up with under 90xxx anyway
vic rwc are a huge improvement on damn nsw pink slip thats for sure
I'm being seeeeeeeeeriosly tempted by TD5s.......
Carsales SSE-AD-1041730 looks very nice.......
Simplicity of D1 or TD5 awesomeness....
Hmmmmm........
Spotted a nice V8 manual 3 door this morning at an attractive price....owner just bought a TD5.
I'm a lot more tempted than I should be....I know the economy is atrocious but that noise!!!!
And the performance.......
Somebody talk me out of it quick!
the performance isn't that fantastic, the novelty will soon wear off, they do sound good, but they are so thirsty!
Ah yes....the noise...........
Did a Quick calc....compared to the 5 door D1a I was looking at the difference in price will be equivalent to around 45,000km before the cost is even.
Long term looks bad for the V8.....
Gas would cut that back....but cost to fit.
I was all keen on an update 5 door too....had to stumble across this 3 door in bronze green metallic with a 2" lift.......looked at it with new eyes!
Got an ARB locker in the back too....
Wish I could afford both!
Prudence says I should get the diesel.......but I am finding the v8 very appealing........
And the noise....
:-D
