    HELP FUEL ISSUES

need some advice on where to start.....
I have a 4.6 upgrade with custom high touque cam and adjustable timing chain, heads are standard and it has ford injectors as advised by mechanic, the engine runs perfect on gas but on fuel it is way to rich at idle and way to lean with anything above half throttle, do I asume it has the correct injectors we have replaced the air flow meter with a couple of second hand ones no differance, bought a after market air flow meter from the USA no differance are there any other things i should be looking at.

Am thinking it might be a faulty ECU or wiring but have no idea where to start without spending a bucket load of cash.

The ford injectors are the replacment of the bosch yellow tops that are now redundant, I think they are out of a BA v8, has anyone ealse used these and are they suitable, resistance , flow rate etc.

Any thoughts or experiance with simular issues would be greatly appreciated

    thanx Matt

At which point in the modifications did the problem start occuring. Or were they all done at the same time. As a minumum, I would put the old injectors back in, reset the battery and see if that's your problem

Have you checked the fuel pressure is correct under all conditions? Your pressure regulator could be leaky, stuck or disconnected from vacuum. Before you blame the ECU you need to test if the injectors are opening a sensible amount of time under varying loads. Some sort of oscilloscope tester or ecu reader would be needed.
