    earthing issues

I know the D1 is bad for earth leaks. Has anyone have a way to solve it properly so it stops. Its playing havoc with my aftermarket water temp gauge. I have a tdi if that makes a difference

You need a good earth from your battery to the engine, from the engine to the chassis, from the chassis to the body. By GOOD earth I mean proper earth battery type cables grounded to clean bare metal and done up tightly, Regards Frank.

Do i do this with both batteries? I have two in mine with a switch to isolate one or the other. Not sure if this is standard or not. When i went to get new batteries for it the battery place days two is standard but my mate swears that it should be a jack in the LH side

2 is not standard and your mate is right, the earth off your second battery could be grounded to the chassis or the engine, Regards Frank.
