D1 maf sensor
Well guys they replaced the sensor with a "new one" ?? Looks like the old one to me. Runs fine no fuse trouble but the mixture scew does not do anything on the multimeter now? A few people said it does not matter its set at 1.85v

I also replaced a airflow meter with a after market 1, trying to track down running issues, turned out to be a throttle position sensor but anyway the after market air flow meter was also shagged when i got it, made the car run way to lean and could not get any adjustment out of it even after the other issues were sorted.

ALL New D1 MAFS are chinese knock offs, don't believe that buying them from the UK that they are made there. The refurbished one get a landy mechanic to stick an analyser into the tail pipe and check your readings and get them to adjust the Maf.

I shall book it in for a check up and hope for the best. And lesson learnt on uk parts $110 for two return postages. Money down the drain!!

Well got up this morning to take it for the check up,idled 15 seconds and died.Would not start only turn over, plenty of spark but no fuel in rail?? Bypassed relay to get sufficient fuel in rail and then she ran for a while, than did it again. Finally got to the garage and they checked it and was now holding pressure and no problem starting?? But the refurbished maf was running at 8% and they could not get it any lower?? So bought a secondhand one from the wrecker next door for $110 and its go better at about 5%?? WTF.. Something somewhere is the trouble.....

An open question, would a bad fuel regulator or pump cause rich running ?Shop said pressure was about 35psi. Checked this morning with a tyre gauge as per some threads and was 25.5, but when it started running rough gauge said 125?? Thought that was high ?

Leaking injectors can cause rich running, if they aren't shutting off they will drip extra fuel into the cylinders, also before spending any more money on parts and stuff, check all connections and make sure the connectors aren't damaged, som times had to see, so careful inspection on wire bends etc, the engine bay heat can do damage to wiring
My D1 had leaking injectors, the plugs were wet and carboned up.

Well a bit more done... This time replaced fuel pressure regulator ,well it idle alot better when stopping,no high idle and the base idle is more precise. As it would jump between say 470 to 570 sometimes stall, very different now . Now waiting for gas anilyzer for tune up.
